Last week, we had the privilege of exhibiting at the SXSW Gaming Expo in Austin, TX. We showcased our game, Amelia’s Curse, for three full days in the heart of the city. In the days preceding SXSW, we worked on the demo nonstop because we were determined to deliver an unforgettable experience at the expo.
During the three expo days, there was seldom a moment when we didn’t have a crowd around our booth. No breaks for us, but we certainly didn’t mind at all! We received a ton of insightful feedback, along with conclusions drawn from our observations of people demoing Amelia’s Curse. Although there is still much more work to be done in terms of both mechanics and art, we find ourselves in a position full of positive feedback. We received overwhelming support from children and adults alike. Even Can Nguyen from the famous Poreotics dance crew demoed our game and posted about it on social media. So even though we were motivated to succeed from the beginning, exhibiting at SXSW has fueled our drive even more.
Special shoutout to SXSW for graciously offering us the opportunity. We met an incredible number of interesting people at the expo, and are definitely excited to come back next year. In the meantime, we will continue polishing Amelia’s Curse before releasing it on Steam for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Stay tuned!
